PROFILE

 

Joëlle Noailly is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of International Economics at the Geneva Graduate Institute and part-time Associate Professor in Environmental Economics at the Vrije Universiteit  Amsterdam. She is further affiliated as Research Fellow to the Tinbergen Institute and Co-Editor of the journal Environmental and Resource Economics.

Her research focuses on a wide array of issues in environmental economics, including energy economics, environmental policy design, green technologies, and the clean energy transition. She obtained her PhD in economics from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and received a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship from the European Commission, as well as several research grants from the Swiss Science Foundation, the Swiss Network of International Studies and the Swiss Federal Office of Energy.

Previously she worked as Head of Research of the Centre for International Environmental Studies at the Geneva Graduate Institute and as research economist at the Dutch economic think tank, the Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB).
